The Greater Augusta Utility District is accepting applications for the position of Geographic Information System (GIS) Specialist.  The GIS Specialist will perform advanced technical services work in operating and training other personnel to operate the Geographic Information System, will assist with pipe network analysis, and will develop, maintain, validate, and update the GIS database. Will require occasional field work primarily in the validation or gathering of data.

 

Candidates should have experience working with GIS and possess knowledge of resource analysis and sources of mapped and tabular data. Familiarity with ESRI mapping software including ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server, and ArcSDE, and database management systems, preferably Microsoft SQL Server, is desired. Previous experience with water and/or sewer infrastructure is a plus as is working knowledge of AutoCAD.  Must have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and work effectively and accurately with minimal supervision and direction.
