Can anybody actually make the case in favor of artificial turf?  The more I look into it the more negatives I see.  Consider the following related to elevated risk of injury:

NFL and college football, turf-related injury
Abby Wambach on turf issues

So ... why pay a lot of extra $ for artificial turf?  Is this just for bragging rights?
