Sarah G is not talking about kids making accounts. The teacher has the account (she explained the set up for teachers who do not have a google + acct).
So the teacher who already has google+ set up would create an additional page within their account and use that to create a youtube channel and give the kids the email to upload it directly to that youtube channel.
At least that's the way I read it. That way the teacher would have total control.

I started to go through the process but didn't finish yet. My issue is that I don't see the option she mentions for choosing education, only business.

Subject: Question re YouTube

Hi Everyone,

I have a question. What do you do if 6th grade students want to insert a
video in Google Drive Slides? I used 6th since they are obviously under 13
and can't create a YouTube acct. I know they can upload the video to drive
and then insert the link but then they have to click on the link for it to
open.
Am I missing something?

Subject: ACTEM Membership Renewals

ACTEM 2015-16 Memberships

ACTEM's membership year runs from July 1st through the following June 30th
annually.  This means that all ACTEM memberships will be due for renewal
next month on July 1, 2015 (both individual and institutional memberships).

Reminder that a current individual membership is required for approval of
professional development reimbursement applications.  The ending date of
the activity determines the fiscal and membership year for reimbursement.
Any summer PD activity with an ending date of July 1st or later would fall
in the 2015-16 membership & fiscal year for ACTEM.  (Example:  The
TechnolgyTeacher.me 2015 conference ends on July 1st so membership must be
current for 2015-16 in order to have PD applications approved and thus
qualify for reimbursement.) Also new this year, as of July 1, 2015 all new
ACTEM members have a 180 day waiting period before they may apply for a
professional development reimbursement.

Institutional memberships are required for districts to participate in
ACTEM's purchasing consortium and receive discounted educational pricing
on our software and other items.  One of ACTEM's vendor partners, CDW-G,
also offers our members discounts and FREE shipping on orders placed
directly with them.

Membership fees remain the same for 2015-16:
Individual Memberships:  $20
Institutional Memberships:  $50 (Small one school districts - $25)

Membership dues can now be paid online via PayPal or with a credit card.
Here is the link to renew your membership online:

Anne,

I create a student channel and have students upload their videos to it.
It's a little painful to set up, but then very slick and easy to use for
students once it is set up.

Anne, where will they be inserting the link? or where will the videos be
published/viewed? Right in Drive or by another source?  From Drive other
peer students should have no issues accessing and viewing uploaded video
from a shared Drive link.

I like that idea. The teacher is now uploading them to her YouTube acct and
I had thought of emailing them but couldn't figure out how to get a
different password - this way solves that problem.
Thanks!

The students (and teacher) want the video to a
"appear" right on the Google slide. The only way to do that is to use
YouTube.

Sarah Glatz's reply said for the teacher to create another channel, get the
email to that channel and then set the password for what you want it to be.
That is a great solution. I was trying to figure out the easiest way for
them to upload it to the teacher's account without having to give them the
teacher's password.
The teacher then just has to send them the link and they can pop it into
the slide.

She attached directions.
