Hi everyone, a few updates…

First, we are pleased to announce the availability of the 2014 GeoLibrary orthoimagery.  This covers Hancock County and the southern 1/3 of Penobscot County.  The data are available as an OGC Web Mapping Service (WMS), or as downloadable JPEG-2000 tiles from the MEGIS Orthoviewer.  Like previous years, there are different resolution products for different areas of the collect, ranging from 3” (Bangor only) to 24” pixel resolution.  Also a color-infrared (CIR) version is available via WMS.

Secondly we are pleased also to announce we have received the November 2013 lidar data for the remaining portions of York, Cumberland, and Kennebec Counties.  The lidar date index has been updated, and MEGIS is currently processing these data to create hillshade, slope, and contour models as well as the delivered DEMs.  We hope to have the updated DEM, hillshade, and slope available within two weeks and the contours within 4 weeks.

MEGIS has completed a new data layer of lighthouse locations, available to state employees via ArcSDE, and to others at our data catalog.

The data catalog has also been updated with new versions of the conservation lands layer and the DOT public roads layer.

All of these available from our website www.maine.gov/megis.
