Good Morning All, the following blog was referenced in a posting on LinkedIn.

http://developmentseed.org/blog-2014/blog/2014/08/07/processing-lidar-point-cloud/

The author  used libLASPostGIS, and QGIS to extract building heights in the Richmond District of San Francisco and promises you a step by step guide to determining building heights. This may be helpful for those of you who are technically gifted.

Also you may be interested to know that we are preparing another LiDAR acquisition proposal for submission to the USGS. This proposal begins with a $300,000 commitment from the NRCS and supplemented with commitments from State agencies. USGS will provide  up to a 1 to 1 match if the proposal is accepted. The area of interest focuses on NRCS interests in southern Somerset and Penobscot county. We hope to be able to submit a proposal for over 4,000 sq. mi. of data acquisition. In the central Maine area.

Please contact me if you have funds that could be used for the project. Our pre-proposal is due 3 weeks from today and the final proposal will be due in early October.

Have a Fabulous Friday!!
