Good Morning all,
I noticed this in the GIS Café newsletter and thought some of you might find it interesting. i-Tree is a state-of-the-art, peer-reviewed software
suite from the USDA Forest Service that provides urban forestry analysis and benefits assessment tools. The i-Tree Tools help communities of all sizes to strengthen their urban forest management and advocacy efforts by quantifying the structure of community
trees and the environmental services that trees provide. http://www.itreetools.org/index.php
Also attached is a research paper that looks at elevation information generated from satellite stereo images and using it to assist identifying urban land cover classification in VHR imagery. It was presented at the ASPRS 2014 Annual Conference
in Louisville, Kentucky in March of this year. Warning: this is an advanced process and not for the faint of heart.
Have a terrific Thursday!!
