*URock Closed Monday, February 17, for Presidents' Day*

Winter break is next week, February 17 - 23.  The URock office will be
closed Monday but open Tuesday through Friday from 8:00 - 5:30PM. There are
no classes next week. Enjoy the break!

*Proctored tests will be administered next week on Tuesday at 8AM and
Friday at 1PM. Call to schedule. *

*UMA Scholarship Event*

At URock on Wednesday, February 26 from 1:00 - 2:30, UMA's Student
Financials' Staff will review available UMA scholarship opportunities and
the application process. RSVP to Haley Brown at 621-3130. UMA has an
efficient way to apply for a large number of scholarships through one
application process<http://www.uma.edu/assets/docs/Student_Accounts/General_Scholarship_Application.pdf>.
Application deadline is March 21.

*Coffee, Dessert and Student Monologues - March 17*

On Monday, March 17 at 6:30PM, the URock SA will host a coffee house time
with drinks and desserts just before student monologue performances at
7:00PM for the Play Production class. Spend a relaxing and fun evening with
good food and good theater. Wear green!

*Individual Career and Money Consulting*

On Wednesdays, February 26, March 12 & 26, Linda Buckmaster of WWC will
meet individually with students to answer money questions and concerns. Get
help deciding on a career that meets your interests and financial needs;
writing a resume and cover letter; develop job search techniques; manage
your money while on financial aid; and, apply for a Family Development
Account. Sign up at the URock front desk for an individual appointment.

*Honors Program Update - Chili and PechaKucha! - March 28*

Members of the Honors Program met last week and decided on some upcoming
activities. Watch the URock student lounge for some "Spirit Flags", an
interactive artsy, crafty project that will be beautiful and fun.  In
addition a date has been set of Friday, March 28 for the next Chili Cook
Off and PechaKucha Night. ("What's a PechaKucha<http://www.pechakucha.org/faq>,
you say?") Mark your calendar as this night should be great!

*Save the Date for the Annual URock Ice Skating Party - March 30*

Sunday, March 30 (time TBA) will be the URock annual ice skating party.
Free ice time and free skate rentals for all! Mark your calendars and watch
for updates.

*MBTI Workshop March 6 - SOLD OUT!*

URock will host a Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) workshop on Thursday,
March 6 from 1:00 - 4:00PM (THIS WORKSHOP IS FULL.) The MBTI is a
questionnaire to measure psychological preferences in how people perceive
the world and make decisions. Workshop participants must sign up at the
URock front desk in order to pick up the questionnaire early in the week of
February 10 and return it after a few days. Susan Barnard of the Rockland
Career Center will lead the workshop and help participants discover career
and occupations that are most suitable to their personality types. You can
also see what famous personalities share your "type". Although this
workshop is full, leave your name at the URock front desk if you wish to be
considered for future dates.

*Congratulations to the URock Tobogganers!*

Congratulations to the members of the two URock toboggan teams who
successfully made it down the chute for the US Nationals. Although no speed
records were broken, our teams were some of the most memorable runs of the
day.

*UMA New York City Trip Info*

URock students are eligible to join UMA's trip to New York City Monday, May
12 - 16. Transportation, accommodations and a ticket to one of three
Broadway shows is included in the cost. The student all inclusive price is
$250. Guests price is $650. Sign up at the URock front desk. Payment is due
at sign-up time. Space is limited.

webpage about any delays or course cancellations. You will also find
information on TV channels 6, 8 and 13 or on the URock office message
machine.

File or renew your *Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

possible in order to qualify for the most financial aid.
