Welcome back!

Spring semester classes for UMA, USM, UM and UMFK begin Monday, 1/13. UMF & UMPI classes begin Tuesday, 1/21. UMM classes begin Wednesday, 1/22. For a full listing of holidays and breaks check the spring 2014 academic calendar.

On Monday, 1/20 University College at Bath/Brunswick is closed in observance of the Martin Luther King Holiday.

Meet-up!

Help strengthen community at the center by becoming involved with the The Midcoast Center for Higher Education Student Association. Their first meeting of the spring semester is scheduled for Wednesday 1/15 from noon to 1 pm. FMI: Lisa Whitney

File or renew now!

All students are encouraged to file or renew the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) before 2/15 to meet the priority deadline! For assistance, attend one of the MEOC workshops held at UCBB or at the Southern Maine Career Center in Brunswick or attend the 2/5, 6 pm, FAME workshop.

Keep that new year’s resolution to improve your money management!

Attend a no-cost “My Money Works: Tools for Smart Money Choices” class sponsored by the Maine Centers for Women, Work and Community. This 15-hour class can help you gain the skills and confidence you need to stretch your money, pay your bills, reduce debt, find money for savings, plan for retirement, and set personal financial goals.
