With the evolution of mobile devices, including smartphones and tablets, many people have enough computing power in their pockets to view detailed maps on the go, and even to collect geographic data. The power of internet-connected, location-aware mobile devices has already influenced our daily lives, and will only continue to increase in importance for both work-related and personal use of mapping technology.
