General Job Description

 

This position will provide professional oversight and management of Right of Way data modernization and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology for the section.  The incumbent will use technical as well as administrative skills to ensure that GIS technology is used properly and efficiently to manage Right of Way information, including but not limited to parcels, boundaries, real property rights and control monuments.  The incumbent must be aware of the spatial information needs of the section, and the resources that are needed to meet them.  Duties are performed under the general supervision of an administrative supervisor.

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Associate's degree or higher in architecture, engineering, highway technology, surveying, or forestry AND five (5) years or more of technician level surveying experience INCLUDING two (2) years or more as a full time survey party chief or equivalent AND qualify for a Vermont Surveyor's License.

Note: As a condition of employment, incumbent must be a Vermont licensed surveyor within one year of employment.
