For those not interested in the NCAA "priority" number, you can buy on stub hub for a fraction of the cost.  Last year it got down to $50 for the whole weekend.  I expect demand will be higher since it is Philadelphia and there probably won't be 4 first time teams in the running.

Also, I am organizing a group to purchase a luxury suite for all three games at the Frozen Four.  We were able to get seats and food for all three games for $375 in Tampa Bay but last year would have been close to $700 so we didn't do it.  After seeing how the suites were set up, I am glad we didn't.  I have already been in touch with the premium seat manager at the WF Center and am at the top of the list to contact when prices are set.  He assures me we will not see the price gouging we saw in Pittsburgh last year.  If you are interested, please contact me at jhfhockey(at)gmail.com and I will add you to the list.  It's just an interest list at this time, you aren't committing yourself to anything.

James - Most Frozen Four venues are sold out, often well ahead of time.  Exceptions were last year (80-90% full and a few years ago when they tried Ford Field in Detroit (indoor football stadium in a ghost-town).  They normally play in an NHL rink with 18-20,000 capacity.

They've kept the price at about $200 for a few years, just this year raising the cost of lower bowl tickets about $30 (15%) for the set of 3 games.

Perhaps you are thinking of the NCAA Regional site games?  They are often sparsely attended.

That said, there are a hundred or two Maine jerseys at every Frozen Four even when Maine is not, and many hundred when Maine plays.

With the economic downturn, the NCAA has changed from selling a chance for tickets in April to an online pick-your-seats more or less in October and has added an online facility to buy-sell tickets.   Both more friendly to patrons and the latter eliminates scalping for those that know about the facility.

Still, cost is a strong consideration every year for me.  Have you seen Football and Basketball prices?  Hockey is not in that league!

I guess they should license the players' likenesses with a video game company to defray costs!!!

Who could possibly take their families to these games at those prices and why haven't they figured out that they would make more money by selling a hundred times more tickets at one fifth of those prices?
