EDT 529 - Advanced Networking and Troubleshooting

-- Description: Provides participants with the advanced capabilities needed for the position of an educational technology coordinator. An in-depth knowledge of network behavior and problems leads to the skills required to isolate and solve security and advanced application problems. Course work is based on theory, class exercises, and “online” labs, allowing students to manage and manipulate hardware remotely.

EDT 537 - Foundations of Distance Education

-- Description: This course serves as an introduction to online education. It is intended to provide students with the opportunity to become familiar with the philosophies, strategies, and techniques involved in teaching outside of a face-to-face environment. Students will have the opportunity to adapt and/or develop content for materials online. Ultimately, students will develop their own online mini course using a content management system (usually Moodle) for either adult learners or K-12 students.

EDT 540 - Principles of Instructional Design

-- Description:   This course is offered online via Blackboard but I intend it to be highly interactive, consisting of a series of activities. The major purpose of this course is to get you thinking about and ease you into the process of Instructional Design for any situation. With education and training in mind, this course is designed to have students effectively use some of the procedures and techniques that Instructional Designers use to rapidly create effective instruction rather than to teach students to become designers.

EDT 616 - Seminar in Educational Media  (Google Hangout - Tues. 4:00 - 6:30)

They will explore some of the barriers and challenges facing appropriate use of technology and will have had experience in crafting thoughtful responses to the major issues of today.
