*Newsletter – July 2*

*URock’s Holiday Hours*

URock will be closed all day on Thursday, July 4 and Friday, July 5. Stay
safe and enjoy the holiday!

*Beware! Rte #1 Construction!*

AS you have probably noticed, traffic around the Breakwater Building has
gotten worse with construction. The main water pipe will be replaced
between MacDonald’s and our building. Delayed traffic is expected. Our best
advice is for you to avoid the intersection at MacDonald’s. Take Old County
Road and approach URock from the north side of Rte #1 and enter the parking
lot from Fales Street. Please allow extra time. Thanks for your patience
with this process.

*Upcoming Proctored Testing*

If you need to take an exam other than during its regularly scheduled time,
you will need to schedule your test through the URock front office. Our
normal hours are Tuesdays at 8AM or Thursdays at 4PM. * Proctored testing
will occur on Wednesday, July 3 at 4:00PM.* A photo ID is required and, in
many cases, instructor permission. Sorry but Friday testing is not
available in the summer.

*Rockland Adult Ed College Transitions Program July 15 – 18*

This program running from 9:00AM to noon serves prospective university
students who want to attend URock in the fall but who want some “brush up”
help with math and language arts. Contact Rockland Adult Ed. for more info
at 594-9764.

another round of *Math Boot Camp*. This is a fast paced and excellent math
refresher designed for those of you who wish to score into 100-level math
on the Accuplacer Placement Test. You must be willing to do weekly homework
and to take quizzes. There is no charge for the course but you must pay a
book fee of $25. Math Boot Camp will run Fridays, 9AM – Noon from September
13 through December 20. Interested students should email Deb
Meehan<[log in to unmask]>for more info.

or too big. No need to register in advance.

If the rain ever stops, we urge you to enjoy the view and cool breezes down
at the shore at the URock picnic tables. There is a cigarette butt disposer
by the tables. Please put all other trash in the dumpster.
