For a complete map of the 2013 orthoimagery acquisition see our web site www.maine.gov/geolib
Good news – the flights and
QA/QC of the 2013 orthoimagery data have been completed. An area of Lewiston was
re-flown due to a brush fire (and resulting smoke in orthos). The planes have left the State.
Now you are going to ask – when do we get the data?
We expect first delivery (3” data) around July 1. Then will come 6” Level 1 data, followed by 6” Level 2, and finally the 24” data. It should all be here by October 1, more or less.

Subject: RE: Ortho Acquisition Update
Tremendous progress was made yesterday with outstanding weather and three planes simultaneously flying. 3” data is completely collected for Lewiston/Auburn and Waterville. One flight line remains for Belfast.
6” data are collected for the islands and the Camden-Rockland-Cushing strip and Damariscotta. Some of the 6” data in Phippsburg/Bath area are collected. All the 2’ data are collected.
Today’s weather also looks fantastic, so we’re hoping it will be done this evening. We’ll have another update tomorrow.
