Run the marathon!

For those of you who are not running the marathon, University College at Bath/Brunswick will be open from 8:30 am to 9:45 pm on Patriot’s Day, Monday 4/15. Classes will be in session, our Business Office will be closed.

Get involved, get elected!

The Student Association is seeking volunteers to serve as the 2013-14 leadership team. Detailed officer position descriptions and nomination forms are available at the bulletin board opposite Room 108. The nomination deadline is 4/18 at 8 am. FMI: Lisa Whitney. Elections will take place the week of 4/22.

Honor Michael!

We are pleased to announce that University of Maine at Augusta, Human Services and Psychology faculty member, Michael DeSisto will be honored at this year’s annual roast. Please mark your calendar for the evening of Friday 4/19 and help us honor Michael at this fun and delicious event. FMI: Gwen Shatto

Register now for summer and fall

Registration for summer 2013 courses is completely open. The fall 2013 course schedule is now available and registration is open for some but not all of the campuses. Call 442-7736 to schedule an advising appointment with Lisa Whitney or Dennis Unger.

Strengthen your leadership skills!

All students are invited to the annual UMA Leadership Conference on the Augusta campus on Saturday, 4/20 from 9 am – 3 pm. The keynote speaker will be Christopher Irving. The day is free for UMA students and $20 for non-students. Lunch is provided. FMI: Rose Pelletier

Keep Bath beautiful!

Make a difference by participating in the Keep Bath Beautiful Clean Up Day, Sunday, 4/21, 1 to 4 pm. This is an ideal way to warm-up for Earth Day (4/22)!

Eat sweet!

Indulge your sweet tooth on Thursday, 4/25, to raise dollars for the Paul Hanley Memorial Scholarship Fund. The Student Association is holding a bake sale in the Center lobby. Paul Hanley was a Phippsburg resident and long-time student at University College who passed away in 2010; the scholarship was established in his honor by fellow students. Hanley was awarded his Bachelor of Arts degree posthumously at the University of Maine at Augusta 2011 commencement ceremony.

Celebrate the grads!

The Student Association will celebrate our 2013 Graduates on Friday, 5/3, 5 to 7 p.m., at the Bath Golf Club. RSVP deadline is 4/19, email Lisa Whitney or call 442-7736. Join us for hors d’oeuvres, a brief program, and graduate gifts. This event is free for a graduating student and a guest; for all other community members the cost is $15, paid in advance. This is a non-alcoholic event.

Jump-start your career planning!

Attend the Creating Your Future: Career Planning for the New Economy Workshop offered by the Maine centers for Women, work and Community. The workshop meets at University College at Bath/Brunswick on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, 5/14 through 6/6. FMI: Shelley Taylor.
