Greetings from the MSCommNet Project Office,
One requirement of the Harris contract for the State’s new radio system (MSCommNet) is to conduct
field testing of the new system, and that work is scheduled for this coming
June –September.
Part of the testing is essentially a
subjective voice test (“can you hear me now”) with vehicle teams following prescribed drive routes across the grid. The navigator will be talking on vehicle radios to a console operator (dispatcher) as they move across the geography, and the “grading”
will be witnessed by a person representing the State.
Harris will be hiring the temporary workers through a staffing agency,
for the two types of tests.
1.
BER test: Bit Error Rate Test, objective
2.
DAQ test: Digital Audio Quality Test, subjective (mentioned above)
Candidates must be 20 or older with a driver’s license, and reliable.
This is a good job for a college student and you may know some quality candidates.
Yoh Services, retained by Harris for meeting the staffing requirement, is advertising the jobs at
http://jobs.yoh.com/job/Augusta-Driver-Field-Technician-Job-ME-04330/2488529/
These positions are not offered directly by the State, OIT, or the MSCommNet project office; the positions are offered by Yoh, a staffing agency, retained by
Harris, our contractor.
The hourly pay is $9-14, plus per-diem.
You may also forward this to anyone that you know may be interested,
and direct them to the Yoh
posting.
Thanks,
Tom
