Breakout the sunscreen!

Checkout the summer 2013 courses are now listed in MaineStreet. Summer registration is now open on most campuses. Registration opens on 3/18 for UMM students and 3/27 for UMA degree students. Call 442-7736 to schedule an advising appointment with Lisa Whitney or Dennis Unger. Fall course listings are expected to be available in MaineStreet early next week.

Get connected on LinkedIn

Spring Fling!

Enjoy a concert locally this month! The Student Association has negotiated with the Chocolate Church Arts Center for a $2 discount to UCBB students (student ID required) on tickets for March concerts. On 3/8 & 3/9 it’s the Natives are Restless, on 3/16 it’s Jonathan Byrd (folk), and on 3/23 Shemekia Copeland (blues).

The UMA General Scholarships application deadline is 3/18. The AAUW Scholarship and Paul Hanley Memorial Scholarship application deadline is 3/29. Generate other scholarship leads by using the FAME scholarship search.

UMFK is offering seven online courses during an accelerated 8 week March session that begins on 3/18.

Strengthen your interviewing skills

Explore computer information systems careers!

Join us Thursday, 3/21 from 5:30-7:00 pm for a panel discussion of computer information systems careers. Panelists will include representatives from education and business. Participants will gain an understanding of career opportunities and education/training options for this industry. This event is free and open to the public. To register, please call 442-7736. Checkout the the Student Association “Civic Engagement Fair” in the lobby on Thursday, 3/21. Representatives of community service organizations will share information about volunteer opportunities! Participating agencies include, Habitat for Humanity, ArtVan, Sweetser, Tri-County Literacy, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bath/Brunswick.

Meet the Author!

Through the creative efforts of UMA, Human Services, faculty member, Pat Clark, we are pleased to announce that award winning author, Cynthia Lord will visit the center for a reading and question and answer session on Thursday, 4/4 at 1 pm in Room 112. Cynthia Lord is a highly regarded children’s author and most recently published the novel, Rules.
