Happy Monday! I thought I would reply to the list for those of you who might have some of the same questions. I would also like to reiterate that the staff at the Maine State Library is always happy to help in any way we can. As the State Data Coordinator, I look forward to your calls and always welcome the chance to talk with Directors that I don't normally get the opportunity to interact with. Being in this position I have had the privilege of seeing the great work that Maine public libraries do. The added bonus is hearing updates on grandchildren, trips you've taken and babies born during the year. So please don't stop calling! 3.8 Salaries This is where you would report the amount you get paid for salary or stipend. So in your case you would report $1200. The difference here is that you would report zero for 3.9 Employee Benefits if you are only paid a stipend. 13.2 Hours Worked Per Week The hours worked per week is the hours agreed upon in your contract. If you are paid a stipend to work 32 hours and you work 40 hours then your hours worked per week is 32. 13.3 Hourly Rate Put N/A for hourly rate if you are paid a stipend. This could use more clarity on the form. I will make a note to add this to the updates for next year. I look forward to hearing from each and every one of you. I receive a stipend. $100 a month. I worked sometime 50 hrs a week but mostly 30-35. Most is volunteer doing everything at home so save lights and heat spent here doing paperwork and book reviews. I am a member of the Children's Book Review. This takes time reading books, writing critiques, and attending the two hour meeting once a month. How should I fill in: 13.2 Hours worked per week? (I averaged to 32 a week) 13.3 Hourly Rate - do I pit $1.39!!! haha 3.8 is a stipend the same as a salary (I know in the real world it isn't but in this library volunteer/paid type jobs.) Thought I might get a quicker answer here than bothering the Survey Report People. Thanks, Sharleen -- West Buxton Public Library Sharleen A. Fields - Director P. O.
