Our contractor Woolpert was busy over this weekend as we got a break in the weather at last for the 2012 orthoimagery collection in Maine.  This is the first year of a five-year program outlined in more detail at www.maine.gov/geolib.  In 2012 we are collecting in York and Cumberland counties.  We are pleased to report that as of yesterday evening, all of the 24” resolution (1370 sq mi), all of the 6” resolution (1054 sq mi), and 75% of the 3” resolution (144 sq mi) data had been collected.  With sunny weather this morning we expect the last of the 3” data to be collected today.

We have already been reaching out to those communities scheduled for 2013 and 2014 and will ramp that up even more in the next few weeks.  In 2013 we expect to collect Androscoggin, Kennebec, Sagadahoc, Lincoln, Knox, and Waldo counties.  In 2014 we move to Hancock and Washington counties.  Complete details are at the web site linked above.

Any questions feel free to ask!
