Call for Presentations & Save the Date

for the 27th Annual NEARC Conference

ABOUT NEARC 2012

The 2012 NEARC conference will feature keynote sessions, vendor demonstrations, poster displays and over 60 technical workshops and user presentations. The conference is expected to attract over 500 users of Geographic Information System software including urban and regional planners, educators, natural resource managers, utility professionals and government agencies that use geographic information to help with decision-making and problem-solving on a daily basis. 

 

CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS

Are you planning to submit a presentation proposal for the 27th Annual NEARC conference? Presentations must be received by June 1, 2012 in order to be considered! 

 

Criteria are listed below! 

 

PRESENTATION FORMAT

Oral Presentations must be 20-30 minutes in length. Panel Presentations can include up to 3 presenters, but you must submit the complete presentation concept as part of your abstract. Workshop: Intensive 1.5 hour workshop on a specific topic. Poster Presentations will be given space of no more than 4' x 4'. Awards will be given to the top poster presentations.

 

ON-LINE SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Presentations cannot market specific products and services. Abstracts should be 150-200 words. Presenters must register and pay to attend the conference at regular conference fees.

WHO WOULD FIND NEARC VALUABLE?

NEARC is not just for the GIS faithful. Yes, NEARC is for GIS practitioners, but NEARC is for anyone who cants to see the value GIS technology brings to their own environment and the world. This conference is very valuable for new users as well as those who have been using GIS for many years. If you are going to attend NEARC this fall, you might consider alsong bringing along your Supervisor, Town Manager, DPW Director, IT Director, and your Finance Manager; anyone who would benefit from seeing the value of GIS first hand. You will absolutely walk away saying "NEARC is worth every penny!"

 

LODGING                                                               

The host hotel for the conference is the Samoset Resort in Rockland, Maine. A discounted group rate is available at the Samoset Resort for $120/night for standard rooms and $135/night for ocean views plus 7% tax. Please call the Samoset Resort directly for reservations at 800-341-1650 by October 19, 2012 and ask for the special NEARC rate.
