Maine GIS User Group (MEGUG) scholarship and grant program<http://megug.org/education-outreach/> was developed to encourage and support students and educators to undertake and complete commendable GIS projects. MEGUG makes awards annually, providing financial assistance in the form of scholarships to undergraduate students, and grants to educators. One $1000 scholarship and two $500 grants are given out each year. Maine college and university undergraduates are eligible for the $1000 scholarship. Maine educators of grades K-12 and Maine youth group leaders of the same grade groups can apply for the $500 grants.
