Get your taxes prepared for free through The Midcoast Creating Assets, Savings & Hope (CA$H) Coalition. The final CA$H session at University College at Bath/Brunswick is scheduled for 2/27 from 2-4 pm. Sign-up required. FMI and to find other dates and locations: www.cashmaine.org.

Celebrate Dr Suess’ birthday by reading aloud!

The United Way of Midcoast Maine is still seeking volunteers for the 2012 Community Read Aloud on Friday, 3/2 at schools and childcare sites. Volunteers are especially needed in Topsham but can still be placed in other communities. Please register online as a volunteer before 2/29. This is a powerful and fun way to give back to your community!

Strengthen your money management skills by attending a Women, Work and Community sponsored My Money Works workshop. The four-week workshop meets at University College from 10 am to noon beginning on Thursday 3/8. This workshop can help you gain the skills and confidence you need to stretch your money, pay your bills, reduce your debt, find money for savings, and set personal financial goals. Attend a Response to Intervention (RTI) information session

Beginning this summer, UCBB will offer two USM graduate certificate programs designed for practicing teachers and administrators: Response to Intervention (RTI) Academic, and Response to Intervention (RTI) Behavior. Courses in the programs will be delivered by video conference and online. Interested individuals are invited to attend an information session on Monday, 3/26, from 4:00-5:00 pm. Attend the Mid Coast Hospital Healthcare Career Day, Wednesday, 3/28. This event is open to all students and the public. It is a perfect way to explore career options!

Find answers to your health and human services concerns

2-1-1 Maine is a comprehensive statewide directory of over 8,000 health and human services available in Maine. The toll free 2-1-1 hotline connects callers to trained call specialists who can help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Finding the answers to health and human services questions and locating resources is as quick and easy as dialing 2-1-1 or visiting www.211maine.org.

Schedule an exam

Spring semester exam times have been revised to include: Tuesdays, 9:30 am and 5 pm; Wednesdays, noon; Thursdays, 6 pm; and Fridays 2:30 pm. Call 442-7736 to schedule a make-up or online class exam. You must be prepared to present photo identification for all make-up exams and on-site exams for online courses.

Build leadership skills this summer

The Maine New Leadership conference is a highly acclaimed residential training program provides public leadership education for college women. It will be held on the University of Maine at Orono campus from 6/1 to 6/6 and is designed to educate, empower and encourage participants to take on leadership roles.
