Make Up Dates Next Week

The end of semester make-up dates are Tuesday, December 27 at 8:00AM and Thursday, December 29th at 1:00PM. Please call the URock office to schedule your test and bring your photo ID. These are the final test dates for fall 2011.

Session On Special Ed. Teacher Certification – Monday, Dec 19

Heather Ball of UMM will offer an information session on the availability of special education teacher certification at URock. The session will be held on Monday, December 19, from 4:00 – 6:00PM. Although preregistration is not required, there is a sign up sheet at the URock office.

URockMaine You Tube Channel – New!

Check out the URockMaine You Tube Channel for some videos from Expressions Night. Please be patient as we learn this new stuff and keep checking the site for updates and added material.

Spring Semester Registration Continues!

Check the spring 2012 semester page on the URock site for the most up to date registration information, including campus calendars, links to the Distance Learning Class Search and ways to put courses on your wish list from all UMS campuses. Advising appointments with Beverly Bayer and Deborah Meehan are available by calling the URock front office at 596-6906.

Adjust and Renew Financial Aid

If the number of credit hours you are planning for the spring 2012 semester is different than the number of hours you reported when you accepted your financial aid award please be sure to adjust this in MaineStreet. Go to: student center- accept/decline award- student enrollment.

New Student Orientations

If you are a first-time student, please be sure to attend one of our New Student Orientation Programs on either Wednesday, January 4th from 10AM to 12 noon or Thursday, January 5th from 4PM to 6PM. Learn all about Maine Street and Blackboard, sign up for a student ID and library card, meet other new students. Please preregister with the front office.

Storm Cancellations

If bad weather forces us to cancel classes, you will find the most up to date information on the URock web site as well as on TV channels 6, 8 and 13 plus Village Soup online. You can also call the URock office for an updated recorded message. Generally, classes are canceled two hours before start times.

Financial Aid Reminders

Please remember to adjust your enrollment in Maine Street if you are changing the number of credit hours from what was expected of you for the spring term. Also for those of you who filed a SAP appeal for fall, remember that you are under contract with financial aid to meet certain academic standards. If you will not meet those, there is yet another appeal process but you must demonstrate extraordinary circumstances.

Reapplying for Financial Aid for summer & fall 2012 and spring 2013. Just as soon after the New Year, we advise that you prepare your 2011 federal income taxes and then file your FAFSA for the 2012-2013 academic year. The earlier you apply, the more money you may be awarded!

URock Student Association

The Board of the URock Student Association is always looking for new members to help with the planning and sponsoring of activities and events to build the URock community. This is a great way to make new friends and offer your leadership skills. Check the web site for contact information and links to the SA’s meeting minutes.

SAVE THE DATES: Friday, February 3, 2012, the SA will sponsor a Wii Night of games and fun. Prizes and food and bring the family! URock’s annual ice skating party will be Saturday, January 28, from 6:00 – 8:00PM at the rink at Mid-Coast Recreation on Rte #90. Free and fun for the whole family!

Room #409 for Studying, Creating, Skype, Powerpoints and more!

The classroom set-up in room #409 is intended to be a friendly environment for students who are working on projects together. Equipped with a flat screen monitor, computer, wireless keyboard, Skype, white boards and comfy furniture, the room can be configured to meet your needs. Students can schedule use of room #409 themselves through this link.
