Register

UMA degree students can register for spring courses on MaineStreet starting Monday, 11/7. Check here for detailed information about registration dates across the UMS campuses. Please schedule an appointment to meet with your faculty advisor or call University College (442-7736) to schedule a meeting with Lisa Whitney, Student Service Coordinator or with Dennis Unger, Director.

The UMA Advising Center has created some helpful tutorials on distance registration and using a degree progress report.

Checkout the expo

Stop by the UCBB table at the 5th Annual Business & Community Expo (formerly the Go Green Expo) on Saturday, 11/5 from 10 am to 4 pm at Mt. Ararat High School Gym. Admission is free and there is plenty of free parking at this family-friendly event. CHANS will provide free flu shots, MPBN will provide Grow-A-Tree kits for the first 200 people to arrive, there will be computer and electronics recycling by Best Buy, a children’s area, resume screening, a food court and much more!

Get the inside scoop on Human Services careers

Attend the Preparing for a Human Services Career Information session on Monday, 11/7 from 3 to 4 pm. Grace Leonard, UMA, Academic coordinator for Mental Health and Human Services will share information and answer questions. This session offers a perfect opportunity to learn more about certificate options, graduate school, and career opportunities. FMI and to sign-up, email Lisa Whitney.

The Student Association kicks off the giving season on Thursday 11/15, 2:30-4 pm, with hot beverages, home baked goods, and the lighting of “The Holiday Giving Tree.” This is the second annual SA effort to brighten the holidays for local boys and girls in need. Thanks for your generous support!

Peaceworks, based in Brunswick, has once again generously provided a $500 PeaceWorks Peace Studies scholarship toward a 3-credit hour University of Maine Peace Studies course. The award is available for the spring 2012 semester and the application deadline is 11/30.
