"Back 2 School Smiles" Free Dental Care Day for Hancock County Kids 1-18. Saturday Sept. 10, 9am -4pm
The Caring Hands of Maine Dental Center will sponsor the 2nd Annual "Back 2 School Smiles" Day at the Dental Center (70 Kingsland Crossing, Ellsworth) on September 10th. The even aims to help kids have a healthy and successful school year. A 2002 CDC report on Oral Health tallied that "Approximately 51,679,100 million school hours were missed annually by school-aged children due to a dental problem or visit..
"Back 2 School Smiles" provides access to no-charge dental care to children and teens whose families do not have a current dentist and who do not have dental insurance: free screenings, XRays, cleaning, basic treatment as needed.. Families with dental insurance coverage who are interested in visiting the center can make an appointment during regular clinic hours.
