New Financial Aid Regulations – Big News!

Effective July 1, 2011, federal financial aid regulations are changing related to satisfactory academic progress (SAP) which allows you to continue to receive financial aid. The new policy discontinues the probationary period and any student who is found to be out of compliance will have their future financial aid suspended or not awarded. UMA’s Financial Aid Office will contact students via message center and written correspondence will be sent to students who are out of federal compliance. If you are affected because your SAP has dropped below an acceptable level, you have 14 days from notification to appeal this decision if you feel you have extenuating circumstances that impacted your ability to meet SAP. Pay attention to all e-mails, message center notifications, and letters sent to you. Take responsibility to be informed. If you are worried talk with Bev or Deb.

If you qualify for work study, contact Althea to discuss opportunities.

If you have not yet completed your FAFSA for the next academic year, it is not too late. Please go to http://www.fafsa.ed.gov to file.
