Please remind everyone that Netflix is a PERSONAL viewing service.  Their use policy specifically prohibits the use of the service in the classroom without proper licensing FOR THAT SCHOOL.  An individual Netflix account is not authorized for public viewing (e.g. within a school or classroom) unless the school itself is licensed.  Studios do monitor services and if caught, this can be an extremely expensive proposition for the teacher/school.  And, it is against the law, so the idea of they would never get prosecuted, even if true, would not set a very good example for students.

Keep in mind that this will allow all content from Limelight Networks CDN.  I can't find any policy regarding Adult Content, but it might be something to consider before allowing it for the long term.

In theory, no websites are actually hosted on the llnwd.net domain (only the content) so standard filtering would still be applied to the sites that use Limelight, and MECguard would block a "bad" site before it ever gives the user links to the Limelight hosted content on llnwd.net.  So I _think_ it should be OK, but I could be wrong.

Ray,

I added .llnwd.net to my Allow List and this seemed to fix the issue I was having.

Thank You

We've had a few reports of Netflix slowness.

A quick check is showing that Netflix content recently started being picked up by RTF in MECguard.

If you have been having problems with Netflix, check your RTF and delete any entries that have been added for Netflix.

To prevent it from happening again, you can add Limelight Networks (the CDN used by Netflix) to the Allow list (e.g. ".llnwd.net")

MECnet is looking into why this is happening, it's likely a quick of the encoding they do.
