This only applies if you are using the Joebox with public IP addressing and use Network Management (nm.maine.edu) to administer DNS and DHCP for your network. Those of you who have tried using MECguard SSL and WPAD for automatic discovery on OS X might have ran into some problems with OS X not being able to discover the URL (http://wpad.yourdomain/wpad.dat). This is because OS X looks for the "domain-name" option to be set explicitly by DHCP, which Network Management doesn't do by default. Previously, the only way to set this option was to modify each host. We are now testing the ability to set the domain-name option on a network level. If this applies to you, please contact Support to request that a wpad.yourdomain DNS record be created, and the domain-name option set for your network: Mon-Fri 7 AM to 10 PM, Sat 8 AM to 5 PM. 1-888-367-6756 or [log in to unmask] -- Ray Soucy Epic Communications Specialist Phone: +1 (207) 561-3526 Networkmaine, a Unit of the University of Maine System http://www.networkmaine.net/
