MEGIS is pleased to announce that its new website is officially "live" and available at http://www.maine.gov/megis.

The 'old' website will continue to run at http://megis.maine.gov for one week, but as of March 21 it will go away and any requests to http://megis.maine.gov will be redirected to the new site.  We will be retiring the 'old' website on March 21.

The new website combines the web mapping services into the data catalog, and includes metadata stored in the GeoLibrary GeoPortal.  Some changes you may notice:

Where did the tables go?  Standalone tables are now bundled in with the data layers they relate to (so TINGIS is bundled into the public drinking wells, geocodes is the town boundaries, etc.).

What happened to some federally-supplied data?  Certain data layers that the federal government supplies are no longer offered through our data catalog as that is a redundant function.  Instead we provide links to the federal sites where the data can be obtained.  This is true for things like NWI, SSURGO soils, and NAIP imagery.
