MEGUG is proud to announce the release of the 2011 Angela Stokes Scholarship and Maine GIS Educator Grant program.  The purpose of this scholarship and grant program is to encourage and support students and educators to undertake and complete commendable GIS projects. The scholarship program is in memory of Angela Stokes, a previous winner of this scholarship who passed away February 1st, 2006.

MEGUG hopes to make awards annually, providing financial assistance in the form of scholarships to undergraduate students, and grants to educators. Our goal is to award one $1000 scholarship and two $500 grants each year. Maine college / university undergraduates are eligible for the $1000 scholarship. Maine educators of grades 6 through 12 and Maine youth group leaders of the same grade groups can apply for the $500 grants.

The scholarship and grant applications can be downloaded from the MEGUG website on our Education & Outreach page (http://megug.org/education-outreach/) and must be submitted in full (with all supporting documents) to [log in to unmask] by March 31, 2011.
