money on the table? If you earned under $50,000 last year,
you can find out if you qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit and get
your taxes prepared for free through the Midcoast Creating Assets, Savings & Hope (CA$H)
Coalition. Tax prep is offered on different dates throughout our

Read Aloud!
United Way of
Mid Coast Maine is coordinating the 12th annual Community Read Aloud on
Wednesday, 3/2,
2011! On this special day, volunteers from all walks of
life visit children at child care sites, Head Starts, and elementary
schools in the Mid Coast region. During the half hour or forty-five minute
visit, the volunteers talk about why reading is important to them in their
lives and then read a favorite book or books to the children. This is a
tremendous opportunity to promote literacy and build community. Support
this effort by volunteering–pick-up a volunteer registration form in
the Midcoast Center for Higher Education lobby or email [log in to unmask].
Please submit your registration by the end of January.
Volunteer
We are
recruiting volunteers and students who have a work-study award to staff our
business office. Volunteers are eligible to earn a three credit hour UMA
tuition waiver. We are specifically looking for students to cover early
morning shifts and evening shifts. Please contact Arlene Smith
FMI or to apply.
Enter to win!
Enter the SA drawing for a
Coffee 101
gift certificate by 1/25 (drawing details in the lobby)! All students are
invited and encouraged to attend Midcoast Center for Higher Education student
association meetings. Please join the SA officers at
their first spring semester meeting on Tuesday 1/25 at 11:45 am
in Room 120. Email [log in to unmask] if you plan to attend
or FMI.

Curtis Memorial Library in Brunswick through 2/16. Upcoming topics: The Walls Really Do Talk: How
Buildings Reflect a Culture (1/26) and HIV AIDS: A Modern Plague (2/2)
Sell
A book buyback
