URock Closed Thursday, November 11

There are no classes and the office will be closed on Thursday, November 11th, in observance of Veterans’ Day.

Heart Health During the Noon Hour with Sheila Curry from Pen Bay

On Tuesday, November 16th from 12:00 noon to 1:00PM, Sheila Curry of Pen Bay Medical Center’s Cardiac Unit will discuss Heart Health as a part of the URock Your Health series. This is free and open to the public.

URock Zumba Night Saturday, November 20th

On Saturday, November 20th, the URock Student Association will host a free ZUMBA PARTY NIGHT at 6:00PM at High Mountain Hall in Camden (near the library). URock students can also bring a friend or an older child. The “party” will be led by local ZUMBA sensation Korinn Scattoloni. The event is for people of all physical abilities who are willing to enjoy the music, move and have fun. There will be many raffles and door prizes. Sign up is encouraged at the URock front desk. First URock Student Art Show Opens Friday, December 3rd

Mark your calendars for Friday, December 3rd for the URock 1st Ever Student Art Show Opening. Students in Seth Lester’s ART 100 – Studio Art, Emily Wolf’s ART 115 – Drawing and Dee Peppe’s ART 109 – Digital Photography, will open a showing of their best work. Refreshments will be served.

“Bill Pay” Goes Live Across the Campuses

MaineStreet Student Financials will soon provide students with enhanced displays of your student bills, allows you to view and print invoices, assign authorized users to your accounts (so others cam make payments on your account), and allow you to self-enroll in payment plans. Beware of Copyright Infringement

Downloading music or movies could result in fines up to $150,000. The Recording Industry Association of America monitors all college campuses. When complaints from the RIAA are received, wireless access is taken away until Computer Services can verify the alleged material has been removed. Be careful.

Spring Registration Open

UMA Registration for the spring term is now open. You can build your wish list in Maine Street or go right in and register for classes. Check here for all campus registration dates. And, check here for a preview of the spring schedule at URock. Schedule an advising appointment early so you get all the classes you need and want.

URock Writer’s Club – Off and Running

The next meeting of the newly formed URock Writer’s Club will be held on Wednesday, November 17 at 6:00PM in room #413. Contact student Joshua Wallace for more info.

Part Time Help Wanted

If you have an interest in science, and earning a little money, contact Stacey Palmer regarding some field science work in Appleton over the next month.  She needs students to collect compost samples. Could be good holiday money.  Tell her you are from URock.
