Got Art?

UMA students are taking a bus to Brunswick for the Friday, 11/12, Brunswick ArtWalk. Local students are invited to meet the group at 2:45 pm on the steps of the Walker Art Museum at Bowdoin College (campus map). Enjoy guided visits to art museums and galleries with UMA Art and Architecture faculty. FMI call Jan Bunford at 577-0426. The visit will include a stop at Brandon Lutterman’s solo exhibit “Ocean’s Edge” at the Smith Union, Lamarche Gallery. Brandon’s ceramics show runs through 11/28.

Learn about the UMA Honors Program

Dr. Jon Schlenker, Director of the UMA Honors Program, will hold an information session via videoconferencing on Monday, 11/15, from noon to 1 pm. He will discuss the perks and challenges of the Honors Program and answer curriculum questions.

Get lucky!

Enter the SA drawing for a $25 Shaw’s gift card by 11/16. Check the lobby for details. All students are invited and encouraged to attend Student Association meetings–the next meeting is 11/16, 11:45 am to 12:45 pm.

Relax, with the help of a chair massage! A signature, wellness week event, chair massages will be available on Tuesday, 11/16, from 10 am to 1pm. Destress with this no-cost activity!

Be proactive!

Get a free flu shot and have your blood pressure checked on Wednesday, 11/17 from 11 am to 1 pm. Donations are welcomed.

Be smoke-free!

Love your lungs, by participating in the Great American Smokeout on Thursday, 11/18.

Celebrate!

University College at Bath/Brunswick will close at 4 pm on Wednesday, 11/24 in observance of Thanksgiving. We will reopen on Monday, 11/29. Happy Thanksgiving!

Make Peace

The application for the $500 PeaceWorks Peace Studies scholarship toward a 3-credit hour University of Maine Peace Studies course in spring 2011 is available. The application deadline is 11/30, 2010.
