*URock Closed Monday, Oct. 11, for Columbus Day*

*Withdrawals with ‘W’*

The last day to drop a UMA class and receive a ‘W’ (withdrawal) grade and
not a WF (withdraw failing) is October 26th.

*Prep for Flu Season – 10/19*

Meet staff from the Maine Center for Disease Control and learn about good
prep for flu season as well as vaccines and the latest info on H1N1. This
info session will be held at noon in room #403.

*Guess the Candy Count!*

Check out the jar of yummies on the front office counter. Come closest to
guessing the right number of pieces of candy and win the jar! The drawing
will occur on Oct. 29.

*Conserve Cups!*

Right now the URock Student Association is spending up to $150/month on cups
at URock. It’s outrageous! Do you have a travel mug you might bring from
home? Or, write your name on your paper cup and reuse it many times. Please
help us get this under control.

*The Student Association Meets 10/15 at noon*

The URock Student Association is a great way to get involved in the URock
community and to show leadership skills. Their next meeting will be Friday,
October 15th, at noon in room #413.  Guest Joan Vargas from the Humane
Society of Knox County will share their specific needs for student
volunteers.

*Pop! Tech Comes to URock*

The world class event of Pop! Tech
<http://www.poptech.org/poptech_2010>will be videostreamed at URock on
Thursday and Friday (Oct 21 & 22) from
9:00AM to 4:00PM.  So, pull up a chair in room #403, enjoy some popcorn and
soak up their world-changing people, projects and ideas.

*Student Association Renews Farnsworth Passes*

The Rockland Student Association recognizes the value of student access to
the Farnsworth Art Museum. Student passes may be checked out at the URock
front desk for a 24 hour period. Passes allow you entrance to all galleries
and exhibits at the museum <http://www.farnsworthmuseum.org/>.

*Student Discount Cards*

Please pick up your laminated student discount card in the front office. See
here for a list of businesses offering discounts.
