Welcome Back Barbeque – This Friday Night

Join other URock students, some faculty and staff, for a Welcome Back Barbeque this Friday, September 17, starting at 5:30PM under the tent in the rear parking lot. There will be live music (The band is GONE), hot dogs, hamburgers, veggie burgers, veggie platters, fresh cider and the makings for ice cream sundaes. Sign up is informal in the front office or just RSVP on URock’s Facebook page under events. Bring a lawn chair!

Mobile Veterans’ Van to Visit URock -Sept 20

Veterans and their families are welcome to join us for a Veterans Event with the Mobile Vet Van on Monday, September 20th from 10AM – 2PM in the URock parking lot. Click here FMI.

Microenterprise Training Info Session – Sept 23

Have you always wanted to start your own small business? On Thursday, September 23, at noon at URock, the Mid-Coast Entrepreneurial Development Academy will present a workshop about the various community resources available to help start-up business owners. This is a quick, one-hour overview of important resources. Please sign up at the URock front office.

Please pick up your laminated student discount card in the front office. See here for a list of businesses offering discounts.

Student Discounts on Computers and Software

As a student of the University of Maine System, you are eligible for discounts on important student technology. You can shop online for laptops, desktops, printers, ipods and more. You may also reach them by phone at 581-2580.

Please Pick Up Spring and Summer Papers and Projects

Please come to the office and claim your returned spring and summer class papers and projects. We’ll hold spring work until September 30th and then it will be destroyed. We’ll hold on to summer work until October 30th.

URock Your Health Continues September 28th with Info Session on Knox County Clinic

The Knox County Health Clinic in Rockland offers free and low-cost medical, dental and mental health assistance to the uninsured, under-insured and those who cannot afford basic health care.  Please join us for this valuable one hour information session on Tuesday, September 28th at noon when staff from the clinic will provide an overview about how to access their services. Many students have been helped by this very valuable service agency.
