COMPUTER CAREERS
SESSION TO BE HELD AT UNIVERSITY COLLEGE
Faculty from the University of Maine at Augusta (UMA) will
present an information session for people interested in pursuing careers in
computer information systems. The videoconference session will be available at
University College at Houlton on Friday,
March 19, from 10-11 AM, in Room 110.
UMA’s Bachelor of
Science and Associate of Science programs prepare students for exciting careers
in the field of computer information. According to the Department of
Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of computer and
information systems managers is expected to grow much faster than the average
for all occupations through 2016.
UMA’s Associate’s
program emphasizes a well-rounded curriculum that boasts a unique blend of
information technology, mathematics, business, and technical writing. The
Bachelor of Science program combines course work with an internship component
that provides real-world work experience desired by employers.
Courses in the program are available online and through a
variety of other learning modalities. For more information about UMA’s
Computer Information Systems program and the upcoming information session,
