Just a reminder that the Maine Municipal Association and Maine GIS Users
Group are presenting their combined technical conference on March 11 at
the Augusta Civic Center. This is a great opportunity to find out what
is going on in the municipal world, how technical tools can help
municipalities, and includes an entire track devoted to GIS use. Topics
include IT disaster management, web design, shoreland zoning and vernal
pool mapping, social software, and parcel-deed linkages in online tools,
plus many others. Dr. Jim Page, CEO of James W. Sewall Co., will
provide the keynote address "Readying Municipalities for the Future with
Spatial Technology". There will also be a staffed "Doctor's Office" all
day where you can bring your GIS questions and we will also showcase the
GeoLibrary metadata portal.
