A staff person from MMA=92s State and Federal Relations Department will be
presenting in opposition to the Excise Tax initiative. That presentation
will include: (1) an analysis of the initiative; (2) the financial impacts
on both the statewide and town-by-town level; (3) information about how
excise tax revenues are currently used by Maine=92s towns and cities; (4)
detail on the distribution of the proposed tax breaks to owners of motor
vehicles; and (5) information about other resources to learn more about this
initiative.



There will also be presentation in opposition to the 2009 version of the
Taxpayer Bill of Rights, or =93TABOR II=94 initiative. The proponents of bo=
th
the Excise Tax and TABOR II initiative have been invited to make
presentations as well.
