If you listen to Yeats read and then hear Pound on Poety Speaks or Audible Yeats, you will see that the two are almost the same. They both have the style of a bard in a meadhall or a druid chanting a spell. J. If you get a chance, look up Bunting's comments regarding this. Bunting claimed that he and Zukofsky challenged EP's style of reading aloud and convinced him to modulate it toward a more contemporary manner. I love listening to Pound read, especially Canto 99 and Mauberly, but also all of the other recordings I've heard (possibly all that are extant, likely more than are easy to find). ___________ Dirk Johnson from Samsung i760 Dumbphone Windows Mobile 6.0 -----Original Message----- From: Michael Scott <[log in to unmask]> Sent: Tuesday, December 30, 2008 1:23 AM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: pound of yeats i suppose Pound's reading style has its roots in Yeats Sent from my BlackBerry® wireless device from U.S. Cellular
