Dear Friends, We have been out of touch and send greetings. Is the Ezra Pound Society in Japan still active? Can anyone provide a contact? Please reply directly to our email: [log in to unmask] Update from Second Evening Art Publishing Two of our three editions of Pound's "Le Testament" will be out by the end of the year. We'll send more information when we have pricing. These are performance scores (music) with editors' annotation. "Le Testament," a reconstruction of the 1926 concert at the Salle Pleyel, Paris. "Le Testament," the final complete version, 1933-1934, never performed. (Regarding the latter score, Pound rewrote the entire score in simpler meters and rhythms, achieving the desired maximum clarity he sought for a decade. We were able to assemble a definitive edition during two months of intensive research at the Beinecke last year. The score had been neglected, remaining unidentified and inconspicuous among the many music scores.) Both scores are engraved and should provide a ready means of access to Pound's most salient musical composition. We have placed a finding aid to the music of "Le Testament", including sketches, with the Beinecke. The finding aid can also be downloaded in pdf form from our website. It should be considered a work in progress, with any corrections, additions most welcome. We next plan to publish the 1923 Pound/Anthiel Le Testament "Gold Score" in facsimile, accompanied by extensive background and notes by the editors--capping our series The Music of Ezra Pound--the grand finale! www.ezrapoundmusic.com Sending our best wishes, Margaret Fisher Bob Hughes Second Evening Art Publishing Emeryville CA
