Routing of AppleTalk and IPX will be removed from the Orono campus on August 16th during 
the maintenance window.  These protocols will still work between machines on a given 
subnet, just no longer between subnets.

For a number of years now, we have desired to remove support for appletalk and IPX 
routing. We have generally made that known, removing it when the opportunity arose. We 
sense that much of what currently remains is not used.

Only antiquated Novell or Apple products should require either of these protocols. Instead of 
re-creating the wheel, here are some references to the reasons/implications of doing so.

If you believe there is a reason this support must be retained, please reply to
