The web site describes the event as ³Join international lichen expert, and author of Lichens of North America, Irwin Brodo from the Canadian Museum of Nature for a look at these beautiful organisms. Members $10, nonmembers $12.² What many may not realize is that he will be at the Delta Institute of Natural History in Bowdoin, ME, for a two-and-a-half-day workshop from Saturday evening, July 16, through Monday afternoon, July 18. The course fee is $160, which includes a set of keys that Dr. Brodo has prepared for this workshop. He recommends that prior to the course, people read the first 100 or so pages in ³Lichens of North America² (i.e., the portion of the book prior to the keys and species descriptions). If anyone is interested in this workshop, please contact me directly (NOT by ³reply²ing to this message). Thanks, Tom Thomas F. Vining V. F. Thomas Co.
