Yes, and in my opinion those game scores in the Paul Kariya days had more to do with Paul and Jim and our defense than whoever was in goal.  Also, IMHO, Jimmie has the best skills of any goalie that I’ve ever seen play at Maine.  And that is some great compliment considering the goalies that we’ve had!  (Snow and Dunham just to mention a couple.)

I gotta say the best days I remember as a Maine fan were the Paul Kariya days when Maine would win on Friday 5-2 or so,,, and then clean house on Saturday 9-1  EVERY WEEK.  I was never interested in seeing a good game, like the ones Jimmy HOward garuntees every time he steps foot on the ice... I liked the white washes.

heh!!!

Heh!  James -- you mean like the Harvard game, for example??  Or the two against UMass-A in the quarterfinals the previous season ... let's not lionize any of these guys, please?  They are simply student-athletes trying to do their jobs as best they can -- Jimmy is no better nor no worse than any of them, and as he has proven, he doesn't come with any more guarantees than anyone else, either. This is still the college game ...
