I am forwarding another email in hopes that those who want to take advantage of opportunities related to technology will do so. Many of you know about and some may have even received one of these National Semiconductor Awards. Jim Moulton forwarded this one and is encouraging school librarians to apply. Sylvia Sylvia K. Jim ===================== We're happy to announce that the Web site for the 2002-2003 awards programs is now up and running. This year, we're excited to present two opportunities for educators to receive awards for the creative, Internet-based lesson plans that they develop for their classrooms. - Innovative Idea Grants: The new Innovative Idea Grants program is designed for educators who have great lesson plan ideas for their classroom but need additional funding to bring them to fruition. Applicants, or groups of applicants, can receive between $2,500 and $8,000 for the collaborative-based projects they develop and onsite consultation from an expert educator. Winning applicants also have the opportunity to win an additional personal award of $1,000 based upon the successful implementation of their project in the classroom. The deadline for this program is Sunday, April 6th, 2003. - Internet Innovator Awards: The Internet Innovator Awards program is back again this year, rewarding educators for the creative, Internet-rich lesson plans that they develop and implement in the classroom. Educators have the opportunity to win $10,000 for their creative projects and a free Global Connections: Making the Most of the Internet in Your Classroom course for their school. The deadline for this program is Sunday, July 6th, 2003. We encourage you to visit our Web site, www.nsawards.com, to review the official rules, eligibility criteria and online applications for these programs. We will schedule online chats and onsite workshops this spring to answer questions you may have about each program and to offer tips and suggestions on how to create an award-winning project application. In the meantime, if you have any questions about the programs, please don't hesitate to contact us.
