Even if Evola and Pound shared the same publisher (Vanni Scheiwiller) and Pound's son -in-law Boris de Rachewiltz has been a close acquaintance of Evola, the two probably never met. They exchanged letters, as it is evident from a collection of Evola letters (Julius Evola, _Letters 1955-1974_ edited by Renato del Ponte, La Terra degli Avi, Finale Emilia 1995.) From these letters, and from other trustworth sources, I may say that they did not like each other very much. Evola thought Pound was literally obsessed by economic manias, while Pound thought that Evola was a gloomy person. Dismissing Evola as a "high-minded racist" it is a real mistake, as he has been the most important Italian Dada painter -and poet- (Two ehibitions of his paintings have been recently held in Rome and in Milan, patrocinized by Italian Ministry of Culture); one of the most original idealistic philosopher, and many other things ... He translated Spengler and Otto Weininger in Italian and wrote books on the Holy Grail, on Alchemy, on Sex and on Buddism which are always in print. For example, his book on Buddism has been translated in English by the Paly Society, while his life and thought have been analyzed in many international conference attended by high minded scholars and intellectuals...
