I have to respectfully disagree that this is disrespectful.  This is
commonplace among any team's fans whose name appears within the anthem.
RPI also does the "RED!" thing, and let's not forget the Baltimore
Orioles "O!" at the "O say does that Star Spangled Banner yet wave."

On a more local note, when the Cornell women's hockey team came to Maine,
they simultaneously smacked their sticks down at the "RED" in the recorded
anthem at the Alfond.

To disrespect is to turn their back, ignore, or thumb their nose, or don't
remove their hats during the anthem. (Saluting policemen exempt, of
course.)  I don't think emphasizing one word is wrong.  If anything, the
anticipation of one word adds to the amount of people singing the anthem at
these locations.
