This listserv is designed to provide periodic news updates to the
University College at Bath/Brunswick community.

FAMILY DEVELOPMENT ACCOUNTS
Do you need money for school? Do you want to minimize your student
loans? Women, Work & Community is accepting applications for the Family
Development Account program. This is a matched savings program and can
be used toward tuition, fees and books. There are income and asset
limits to qualify for this program. FMI contact Shelley Taylor at

Ascend, a networking organization serving young people (20-40) living
and working in our region is hosting a public forum on Wednesday 5/28

BIW 2008 APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM INFORMATION SESSION
Thursday 5/29, 6 pm, Midcoast Center for Higher Education, Room 153.
The BIW Apprenticeship is an 8,000-hour training opportunity
(approximately 4 years) that results in certification by the State of
Maine and an Associate Degree from Maine Maritime Academy. The 2008
Apprenticeship class will start in October. Applications will be

DEVELOPMENTAL ASSETS FORUM
United Way of Mid Coast Maine invites you to attend a no cost community
forum on Developmental Assets with Search Institute Senior Trainer, Tim
Duffey. The forum is Tuesday 6/10, 2008, 3 to 6 pm at 34 Wing Farm
Parkway, Bath. Anyone interested in children and youth is encouraged to
attend, including parents, community members, teachers, religious
leaders, youth, business owners, law enforcement personnel, and others
who work with youth. Space is limited and registration is required:

UMF ECE INFORMATION SESSION
The University of Maine at Farmington Off-campus Early childhood
Education program is recruiting a new cohort of Associate degree
credentialed early childhood professionals. A Thursday, 6/12 6-7 pm
