Perfect timing! I was just thinking about reaching out to a few individuals, but this makes it so much easier. I've wanted to update the National Sea Grant Law Center's white paper on offshore renewable energy (http://nsglc.olemiss.edu/offshore.pdf) for a couple of years now, but I've personally been more involved in working waterfronts this past year and I'm a bit out of the loop.

I'd love to learn more about what the legal questions currently are (if there are pressing ones) and how the NSGLC might be able to help individual Sea Grant programs or this network start a conversation about them.

Looking forward to hearing what everyone is working on!

Thanks,
Stephanie

This is great. I'm so happy that the marine renewables conversation will continue within the Sea Grant Network.

For those of you who may not be aware, DOE, PNNL and OES have recently produced an online database (called Tethys) containing information on the environmental impacts of marine renewable energy. The effort is described here: http://apps1.eere.energy.gov/news/progress_alerts.cfm/pa_id=838. And you can access it here: http://mhk.pnnl.gov/wiki/index.php/Tethys_Home
We hope it is a good resource for you; stay tuned as it continues to grow.

I look forward to the conversations to come.

Cheers,
Meghan

Subject: Welcome to the Sea Grant Renewable Energy List Serve

Hi everyone,

Welcome to the launch of the Sea Grant Renewable Energy List. The goal of the list is to share information about our efforts in research, education, and outreach pertaining to ocean and coastal renewable energy developments.

Maine Sea Grant's IT staff person has created the list for our use and has informed me that attachments are not currently possible. Please use google docs or other methods to share documents, photos, etc., with the group.

Please send me requests for new users along with the person's email address and I'll add them to the group.

Thanks, and I look forward to participating in this group with you.

Best,

Chris
