This outage is resolved.  The cause was a problem with our fiber point of
presence in Newcastle, which caused directly connected sites to lose
connectivity, including DMC.  Additionally, this triggered a secondary
issue where the redundant fiber path for UMM and other downeast sites did
not fail over as designed.  The failover issue is still under investigation
by engineers.

University’s fiber network, causing outages for UMM and Darling Marine
Center.  Work to restore is ongoing, but no restoration estimate is
