At around 10:50am this morning there was a widespread network outage
impacting multiple University campuses, which lasted for approximately four
minutes.  At present it appears this was likely due to a fiberoptic link
failure (possibly a fiber cut) and corresponding failover processes,
however diagnostic and troubleshooting work is still ongoing.  At this time
all services affected by this event have been fully restored, and no
further outage is anticipated.  As work progresses and more information is
available updates will be provided.  If any issues are still being noticed
that are believed to be related to this event, please contact Networkmaine
for troubleshooting.
